To: Larry Adams, Reginal Vice President

Larry, My name is Craig Wade and I’m the Customer Service Manager for Brooks Food Group in Bedford, Va. I wanted to take just a moment to express our sincere thanks to Burris for the help you all provided when we really needed it recently. In particular Larry, I wanted to acknowledge the excellent work of Scott Havener. This is the second time Scott has helped us solve a Customer’s delivery problem that seemed impossible to solve. Scott was focused and efficient, and kept his goal on results, not excuses.

Larry, please take the time to thank Scott for his excellent work. Scott certainly has his priorities right.

I wanted to make sure you knew how much I really appreciate all that you guys did last week. We neglected to specify that we needed hold product shipped, and without the first complaint, you guys went back, picked up the wrong product, returned it to the freezer and returned with the right product in time to make our production. You saved the day. By getting that load redelivered by 6am, you prevented a production line from shutting down.

Above and beyond.

Thanks,

I want to thank all of you very much for helping me accomplish a PERFECT inventory. Out of 2,140,935 total cases all of our inventory's match case for case 100%. This is the first time I have ever had 100% on the inventory comparison report.

Lets shoot for a second week. Please pass this onto your associates and Thank them for a job well done.

Thanks,

Andrew and I want to express our thanks for the excellent job all your dock supervisors and freezer men did these last 2 weeks. We threw quite a few curve balls with containers not being available as expected, etc. and you were able to get all our loads out timely – especially late in the week with full outbound schedules. Kudos to all the CSR’s and the ladies in Shipping/Receiving, too for handling our orders quickly and efficiently to make it all happen. We appreciate everyone’s extra effort to help us achieve the special COMAC requirements for July.

Subject: B.J.'s Wholesale Trade Show..

Danny,

I need to take a moment, and Thank you, and everyone at Burris that helped to make B.J's annual General Managers meeting such a success. This aspect of their event, the receiving, trapping, transportation and storage at show site of refrigerated, and frozen items is critical. It is the single most important segment of this show. Danny, your availability to me, especially on the week end, (sorry I had to bother you on Sunday ), and your coming out to the show helped smooth the bumpy road this area can be.

We received all positive feed back on the show floor, and have rebooked this event for next year. I look forward to working with you, and Burris next year.

Sincerely,

Scott sorry for the great delay but wanted to thank you and your terrific supporting staff for a great year. Your performance during Thanksgiving and willingness to go beyond are noted and appreciated.

We received an internal award for going beyond getting product moved during Thanksgiving week. A special note was attached stating that we had found a cold storage manager on Sunday who opened a closed facility and loaded trucks on the needed surprise schedule. My apologies to you for pulling you off a bike on a gorgeous day and a special personal thanks for truly going above and beyond.

Its a pleasure to enjoy someone who understands the business throughout the year and realizes what 2 special weeks means to us and the service we need to succeed.

The accomplishments and support of your group has been documented in the attached statement I will be reading to all Carvel associates in both Supermarket and Franchise division tomorrow.

We would like to extend our appreciation and thanks to your group in the form of this recognition, but also send Carvel Gift Certificates to your group to enjoy.

I am moving to another position within the Smithfield organization.  In doing so, I will have very limited contact with you and your staff. Before going, I did want to thank each of you, your staffs, and your organizations for support and friendship each of you have extended to me.  You folks are true representatives of the great people who provide services to companies like Smithfield.

You should be very proud. It has been a great honor to work with you.  May you enjoy the many joys that life can bring.  I will miss you very much.

Subject: Beaver st. order

Bob, we sent a Beaver street order out last week that required labels to be applied to each case and pallets to be a max. height. This was my first order sold to beaver street and it was important that it be handled correctly. It was in fact, handled perfectly. This order had the potential to have a lot of problems if your people didn't do everything just right.

My thanks to Daryl, Elizabeth, and all involved for a job well done.

I want to thank you for the cooperation I received from you and your staff, during my visit of Thursday, September 11, 2003. I was impressed by the attention that Mike Bishop and I received.

The Sanitation level of your facility and the security of your facility was also impressive. I have visited several freezers and the Burris Freezer is, by far, the cleanest I have seen.

Subject: Your Staff

I want to commend you and your staff there at the Lyndhurst location.  We had a situation last night and Patricia, Samantha and Justin were able to get an OK Grocery, Youngstown OH load out for us that was an extremely high priority.

I contacted them at appx 4:00pm CST to let them know an order needed to be out and delivered to OH by 12noon today.  They did not have the order, but it was hot and had to be loaded.  Both your day and evening shifts were already overbooked, but I was told "No problem".  At 6:00pm they contacted me to advise that the order did not come through EDI.  I asked that they check again in appx 1 hour and if it still hadn't shown to call me back.  They did this and I was able to get a "Faxed" copy from another warehouse to them.  I told them to hand write the bills and get the order completed and shipped out, we would deal with the system in the morning.  Justin contacted me at 9pm CST to advise that they were loading the truck and confirm which order numbers to use as the faxed copy was different than the one given to them to look for through the EDI transmission.

Throughout this year-end close week, both your day and night shift employees have remained in constant contact with me to advise of any issues.  Shane and Tina contact me just to make me aware of potential issues due to the amount of work.  This enabled us to work through the problems, notify carriers and get the shipments out.  You should be very proud of the individuals you have employed at your Lyndhurst location.  It is people like them that help get the job done.  They are a true asset to Burris Logistics.

Please let everyone know what a terrific group you have and I am very pleased to have the opportunity to work with them.

Thanks Again,

Subject: Working with Angle and Chet

I just wanted to take a few minutes to let you know what a pleasure it has been working with Angie and Chet.

Although our working relationship is limited to phone calls, they have always taken care of any questions or problems that occurred in a very professional and timely manner.

They were particularly helpful during the very busy holiday season when it was essential to be in contact with them frequently. On occasion for sales purposes, we required 3 to 4 loads of turkeys, and with less than 24 hours notice, they would have them ready and waiting to be picked up.

You are fortunate to have such committed and dedicated employees. I am looking forward to continuing our working relationship.

Dear Mr. Gonzalez:

This complementary letter is long overdue. As you are well aware, North America Duty Free has been using several independent warehousing facilities in the Orlando area for many years. We at NADF have been quietly evaluating the transition of South Atlantic Cold Storage management under the new ownership of Burris. As always, your service has been admirable, efficient and always professional.

Since, NADF has its office in south Florida and does not staff a representative to oversee our merchandise in Orlando; NADF is totally dependent on the efficiency of your warehousing operation. Your performance has put our minds at case and gives us the confidence to not only continue using your facilities but increase our usage at your warehouses. NADF will also recommend using Burris to those companies needing service in the Orlando area.

Again, thank you for your attention in satisfying our corporate needs.

Mr. Frank Nardi,

In reviewing the last few weeks of activity, I just wanted to pass on a note of appreciation to you and your crew regarding your performance and your commitment to our partnership.

We have had several opportunities with other providers around the state and while many were involved in our partnership, few could follow through with the results we were asking for. The Burris organization has done exceptionally well with this opportunity. Your ability to meet our expectations has been very consistent and much appreciated.

Our companies have developed a strong partnership based on the sharing of proven business practices and cost minimizing strategies. That partnership has given both of us the ability to react to rapidly changing market conditions, deliver quality service to our customers and at the same time, minimize our operational costs.

We hope to continue this trust and partnership with you and look forward to a profitable and safe year.

Thanks again for your commitment to quality service.

Dear Frank,

The Burris Team has made the last few months very pleasurable. Working with other public storage facilities, our needs are usually secondary. However your responsiveness in the areas listed below have been beyond our expectations.

  • Attention to details when receiving our loads
  • Attention to inventory procedures
  • Reacting quickly to changing events
  • Improving order accuracy

While these may seem to be everyday activities for you and your team, Edy's Grand Ice Cream certainly appreciates all of the efforts.

It's great to have such a fine partnership.

Thank you for a great "team effort".
