Within the arena of Inventory Management, Burris offers customers the opportunity to choose how their inventory is controlled. Burris can provide inventory management services or our customers can manage their own. In a Burris managed inventory environment, service objectives are defined, measured and reported. To assist customers who manage their individual inventory, we provide real time access to receipt and shipment history as well as various inventory reports, through a web portal.
Each warehouse is involved in an organized cycle count program based on the requirements of their respective customers. The cycle count process is aided by the utilization of RF scanning on the outbound activities to include the collection of date codes and/or random weight products.
It seems with each passing year, product recalls have become more commonplace in the food industry. Burris has a product recall program that satisfies the requirements to implement a successful recall in a matter of hours. Each facility is audited annually by an external agency and periodically throughout the year, we perform “mock recalls” at the request of our customers.
