From a Proud Heritage, Burris Turns 100

100 Years of Supply Chain Excellence

In 2025, we celebrate our 100th anniversary. From humble beginnings transporting produce between Delaware and Philadelphia, we’ve grown into Freight Brokerage and Redistribution leaders through Trinity Logistics and Honor Foods.

We’ve pioneered cold storage, e-commerce fulfillment, and custom distribution; in the past, we even expanded into truck tire sales and steamship operations. Our success is driven by dedicated Team Members who believe our work positively impacts the American people.

We prioritize the well-being of our Team, fostering a supportive, fulfilling workplace. Over the past century, we’ve faced challenges and growth, but our focus has always been to be the best, not the biggest!

In the coming year, we’ll share more of our history, culture, and people. By the end of 2025, we hope you’ll have a deeper understanding of who we are and where we’re headed.

Thank you for being a part of our history.

Donnie Burris,
CEO and President.

Cheers to 100 Years of Improving Lives and Supply Chains by Solving Tough Problems.
In January of 2025 our CEO and President kicked-off a year-long celebration of 100 years as a supply chain company. He highlighted humble beginnings, family guidance, company change, and growth to where we are, this year. In a company town-hall, our entire organization roared out a supportive cheers!
Over the coming year, we’ll share more of our history, culture, and people. By the end of 2025, we hope to share a deeper understanding of who we are and where we’re headed.
Thank you for being a part of our history, and Cheers to 100 Years.

February

With Integrity and Perseverance, we always find a way to Make It Happen
Welcome to our second month of celebrating 100 years of Burris Logistics. Historically speaking, February is a significant month for our organization. In February, we celebrate milestones, family, and Team Members who led us to our modern Value – Make It Happen.

Make It Happen comes from a time in Burris Logistics’ history when resources were scarce, technology was new, and small groups of dedicated Team Members worked endless hours to get the job done. To this day, tenured people like Burris CIO Ed Krupka continue to build upon the knowledge of 40+ year-long careers to take Burris, Trinity, Honor, Sunny Morning, R.W. Zant, and Eagle Business Credit into a new century of success.

Make It Happen was born out of; “working with what you got,” “working your way to a positive outcome,” “persevering in the face of adversity,” and “doing the right thing no matter what.”

March

In March, we celebrate one of our three values: Personal.Service.Excellence. We create an experience for our Team Members and Customers defined by our passion and extreme ownership.

We started an enterprise-wide initiative in December of 2024 called the ONEBURRIS Kudos Board. This digital board allows us to capture Kudos from Team Member to Team Member when someone goes above and beyond to live our values. This month, we aim to feature Personal.Service.Excellence. moments, asking Team Members to nominate those striving to be the best at their work. Personal.Service.Excellence. is what sets our organization apart from our competition. We have an engrained value in supporting customers and each other with the best possible service.

Our CEO and President Donnie Burris has a very simple way of describing Personal.Service.Excellence.

Donnie quotes Peter Drucker saying “The purpose of business is to create and keep a customer.”

We strive for Personal.Service.Excellence. by creating an experience for our Team Members and Customers defined by our passion and extreme ownership.

May

May is Burris Logistics month, where we are celebrating the dedication, collaboration, and meaningful contributions of our headquarters Team. Burris Logistics’ headquarters in Milford, Delaware, has been a central part of the company’s growth since the 1950s. Once the home base for food distribution and poultry operations, it now serves as a Center of Excellence supporting all Burris Logistics companies—Honor Foods, Trinity Logistics, R.W. Zant, Sunny Morning, and Eagle Business Credit. The Milford, DE, location is home to essential support Teams, including Finance, IT, Legal, and Human Resources, each playing a critical role in driving strategic initiatives and operational success.

From guiding acquisitions to building scalable tech solutions, ensuring legal compliance, and supporting Team Member development, the Milford Team works behind the scenes to empower all divisions of the Burris family. As we celebrate 100 years of excellence, our headquarters remains a vital part of our legacy and our future.

June

In June we are honoring our cold chain roots – where ice cream and history go hand in hand. Since the 1940s, when our Milford, Delaware headquarters housed one of the earliest frozen food warehouses, we’ve been shaping the future of cold storage and logistics. From frozen orange juice to Breyer’s vanilla ice cream, our early warehouses played a key role in our growth.

Though we no longer operate those facilities, our cold chain expertise remains at the heart of our operations. Today, we continue to strengthen supply chains through Honor Foods’ redistribution services and Trinity Logistics’ freight brokerage solutions—carrying forward the legacy of cold into the future.

July

At Burris, July is a month of reflection and gratitude as we celebrate our enduring commitment to servant leadership—a principle that places service to others at the heart of all we do. Since 1957, when Burris Team Members first volunteered at the Milford Hospital Fair by cooking up what became a family-favorite chicken recipe, giving back has been part of our DNA. This tradition of service continues through our commitment to our Team Members, Customers, Partners, and the communities we proudly support. Rooted in compassion and teamwork, servant leadership inspires our daily operations and shapes our visionary future.

We gathered in our Milford HQ as both a company and a family to celebrate the remarkable individuals and milestones that have guided our journey.

This month, we gather in our Milford HQ as both a company and a family to celebrate the remarkable individuals and milestones that have guided our journey. For over 100 years, Burris has flourished because of the unwavering dedication of those who believe in our mission. July is an opportunity for us to not only reflect on our past but also look forward with hope and gratitude. To every Team Member who has played a role in building our legacy, we want to express our heartfelt thanks. Together, we are commited to carrying our shared values forward as we look forward to the future.

August

In August, we’re putting the spotlight on one of our most important core values: We Not Me. Teamwork has always been woven into the fabric of who we are. From rallying together after the Harrington fire to pitching in during COVID—when our IT Team stepped away from their screens to help pack ecommerce orders—our history is filled with moments where people came together to support one another. Time and again, it’s that willingness to put the Team before ourselves that has helped us stay strong, adapt, and succeed.

This spirit isn’t just history—it’s alive in our everyday work. Across all our locations, you’ll find Team Members stepping up, lending a hand, and going above and beyond for each other. This month, we’re asking you to share those moments. Use the Kudos Board to recognize someone who’s truly living out our “We Not Me” value. Every nomination in August will be entered into a random drawing for a gift card, so take a minute to celebrate a Teammate who makes a difference!

September

In September, we’re putting the spotlight on Honor Foods, a Burris Logistics Company. Honor Foods joined the Burris family in 2007 and has grown steadily into a leading foodservice redistributor, guided by a commitment to service, teamwork, and customer value. Over the years, growth through both acquisitions and organic expansion has strengthened the business, uniting talented teams and deep industry expertise across the country. Key milestones include the opening of a new Philadelphia distribution center in 2021, bringing teams together under one roof, and strategic acquisitions that expanded capabilities in dairy and protein.

Today, Honor Foods proudly includes Honor Foods, R.W. Zant, and Sunny Morning Foods, serving customers in 39 states from locations in Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and Orlando. As part of Burris Logistics’ 100-year celebration, we honor the people behind Honor Foods—the dedicated team members whose knowledge, passion, and customer-first mindset continue to drive growth and innovation while adding value across the foodservice supply chain.

October

In October, we’re putting the spotlight on Eagle Business Credit. For more than 100 years, Burris has continued to evolve and thrive by embracing change and staying focused on what matters most—our customers, our Partners, and our purpose of improving lives and supply chains by solving tough problems. This growth mindset has helped the company navigate industry shifts, gain valuable experience across the supply chain, and build a strong foundation that honors the past while preparing for the future.

That same spirit of evolution continues today. In 2024, Burris expanded its capabilities with the acquisition of Eagle Business Credit, a trusted leader in invoice factoring for small and medium-sized businesses. Founded by industry veteran Ian Varley, Eagle Business Credit brings deep expertise, a client-first philosophy, and a talented Team to the Burris family—strengthening our ability to support Partners and celebrate the people who help drive our next century of growth.

November

In November, we are celebrating the Burris Family members, past and present, who have built and grown our company into the one we know today. Only a small percentage of family businesses endure beyond a few generations, and Burris is proud to be part of that rare legacy. For seven generations, Burris family members—past and present—have built, guided, and grown the company with care, integrity, and a long-term vision. As we celebrate A Century of Family, we honor the people whose dedication and leadership have shaped Burris into the company it is today and continue to guide its future.

At Burris Logistics headquarters in Milford, two quotes displayed in the main conference room capture this enduring mindset: “A good name is to be more desired than great wealth” (Proverbs 22:1) and “It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it” (Warren Buffett). These principles have been passed down through generations and remain central to how Burris operates—serving customers, Partners, Team Members, and communities while protecting the family name and legacy for generations to come.

A Century of Family, 100 years in business.

December

In December, we celebrate the Burris family members—past and present—who have built and grown our company into what it is today. As 2025 comes to a close, we reflect with gratitude and pride on the meaningful experience of celebrating 100 years of Burris Logistics. This milestone is a testament to the dedication, commitment, and hard work of our incredible Team Members across generations. Our story has always been shaped by our people, and that same spirit will continue to guide and inspire our future.

December reminds us that We Are Burris Logistics—a family business rooted in strong values, guided by purpose, and made successful by its people. It is truly an honor to reach this milestone together, celebrating not only where we’ve been, but where we’re going. With deep appreciation for our history and excitement for what lies ahead, we proudly look forward to the next 100 years.
